How I write

Every post starts with a topic and an angle I choose, and ends with me reading and approving it. In between, I get help from AI. This page explains where, and how I check the result. It applies to every post, so the posts themselves don't carry a separate label.
What I do myself
- I choose the topic and the angle, and decide what a post is supposed to help you with.
- I add what comes from my own work: examples, trade-offs and opinions.
- I test scripts and templates in a test environment before a post goes live.
- I check every factual claim against the documentation and link the source, so you can check it too.
- I read and approve everything. Nothing is published without me going through it first.
Where AI helps
- It writes first drafts. I give it the topic, the angle and an outline, and then rewrite and cut its version until it says what I want to say.
- It edits my own text, fixing spelling and grammar and making my English read more naturally.
- It helps with research, looking up versions, dates and limits in the official documentation. The sources end up as links in the post.
- It writes code and diagrams. The example scripts, templates and diagrams in the posts are often AI-generated, and so is most of the code behind this site.
Tools
Most of the work happens in Claude, through Claude Code, which is also what built this site. It looks things up in Microsoft's documentation through the Microsoft Learn MCP server. Next to that I use GitHub Copilot in my editor and ChatGPT for quick questions. The tools will change over time; the way I check the result won't.
Why I work this way
AI makes me faster, but it doesn't do the thinking. Choosing what matters, weighing the options and knowing what goes wrong in practice is still my job. It can also be confidently wrong about a version number, a parameter or a date, which is why nothing goes live that I haven't checked.
Without it, I wouldn't have the time to write a blog next to my job. I'd rather publish posts that I've checked carefully than none at all.
